Non Member: Casual Entries may be accepted subject to the provisions of the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions, completion of a safety declaration form and payment of the fee of $15 per race

Boat Public Liability Insurance

In order to race at GLYC you must have valid public liabillty cover of $10M to protect other persons and property, and provide the information and complete the declarations below.

I confirm that I will maintain the insurance current throughout my sailing season.

I confirm that I hold Social Racing Cover, sufficient for sailing in Twlights or Ancient Mariners only (No spinnakers allowed) - Social Racing is base level cover on many policies, if you have full racing insurance you ALSO have this.

I confirm that I hold unrestricted Racing Cover sufficient for Divisional and Trophy races with spinnakers allowed - in many policies this means you take out a "Racing Risk Extension" however some insurance companies include this in the standard policy.

Each member should ensure directly with their insurer that they have the appropriate level of cover, please refer to the Sailing Captain or the Secretary if unsure.

I agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing and by all other rules that govern this event.
I acknowledge that competitors participate in races of this series entirely at their own risk (see rule 3 ‘Decision to Race’).

I accept that:

it is solely my responsibility for deciding whether or not to start or to continue racing; and
no responsibility will be accepted by Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club Inc sponsors, race officials or volunteers, or staff conducting the races or any person connected with the races for any loss or damage to personal property or for personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the races.
