Trophies

Most of these trophies can be seen in the cabinets or on the wall of the Loft bar.

GLYC PERPETUAL TROPHY – THE LIFEBUOY AND BELL: This trophy is awarded annually since 1947 and is for comparison over a series of seven or more handicap races on a points system to determine the highest racing aggregate for each season. This trophy is awarded for the overall club champion based on Personal Handicap.
AS YARDSTICK CHAMPION – THE BILL GAMBLE PROJECT CONSULTANTS TROPHY: This trophy is awarded using AS Yardstick / CBH ratings to determine the best racing aggregate over a series of seven or more races.
JC DAHLSENS PERPETUAL TROPHY: This trophy shall be awarded to the fastest yacht over a series of races i.e. first over the line.
VENTURE TROPHY: This trophy shall be awarded to the fastest monohull yacht over a series of races i.e. first over the line.
JOHN TREVORROW PERPETUAL TROPHY: This trophy is awarded for personal handicap in Division 1.
KING & HEATH PERPETUAL TROPHY: This trophy is awarded on AS yardstick in Division 1.
LESSELS PERPETUAL TROPHY: This trophy is awarded for the personal handicap winner in Division 2.
WGM GROUP TROPHY: This trophy is awarded on AS yardstick / CBH in Division 2.
PAC DINGHY SAILING RACE: This trophy is awarded for personal handicap in Division 3.
SAM TURNER MEMORIAL TROPHY: This trophy is awarded on AS yardstick in Division 3.
MULTIHULL AGGREGATE TROPHY: This trophy is awarded tor personal handicap in Division 4.
KRAKEN TROPHY: This trophy is awarded on AS yardstick in Division 4.
FOUR WINDS PERPETUAL TROPHY: This trophy shall be awarded for the winner of the Ocean Grange Race using personal handicap.
CG DRUMMOND TROPHY RACE: This trophy is awarded for the winner of the annual C.G. Drummond Trophy race using personal handicap.
JOY CROFT PERPETUAL TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the winner of the annual Loch Sport and return race using personal handicap. Usually (but not always) sailed as a two race series with lunch at LSBC.
LB CRAWFORD TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the winner of the L.B. Crawford Raymond Island Race using personal handicap.
JK LLOYD TROPHY: This trophy is awarded annually for the J.K. Lloyd Long distance race using personal handicap.
CHRIS HAWKEN – 3 BAYS RACE TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the winner of the Chris Hawken Three-bays Race using personal handicap.
AUSTRALIA DAY TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the winner of the Australia Day Race using AS yardstick / CBH.
COCK O’ THE LAKE TROPHY: This trophy was donated by Webster Marine to be sailed for on Easter Sunday as part of the Easter Regatta around Raymond Island. Awarded to the Fastest Boat over the line.
METUNG & RETURN TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the winner of the Metung and return race using personal handicap. Usually run as a two race series with lunch in Metung.
EVELYN FRENCH TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the best performing female sailor as determined by the GLYC committee.
BARNESY’S LAST CHANCE REGATTA TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the winner of the Last Chance series at the end of the season using personal handicap. The winner is one who has not already won a trophy that season.
THE LAST HOME TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the hardworking crash boat and tower crew for their tireless work during a season.
TUESDAY NIGHT TWILIGHT TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the yacht that wins the most number of twilight stern-chaser races.
TWILIGHT LADY SKIPPER TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the winner of the female skipper twilight series on points.
RS THOMSON TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the most improved yachtsman in the opinion of the sailing committee.
WINTER SERIES TROPHY: This trophy is awarded to the overall AS yardstick / CBH winner of the winter series.
