Division 2 ONLY

This year we will trial what we are calling a Casual Race Start (CRS) in every 2nd Course Race for Division 2 boats (Trailer Sailers, Keel Boats etc.). This is a simple start at the club system where a start “Window” will be declared and you can start any time you like after the “window” opens and before the “window” closes 15 minutes later. Example the “Window” opens at maybe 1400 (2 PM) and closes at 1415 you simply start any time within that window and your start time will be recorded (in the tower) and your finish time will be recorded in the normal way.

Once the window is open the 1st time a boat crosses the line will be recorded as the start. This allows an accurate elapsed time to be ascertained so handicaps can be calculated. Prior to the Opening of the Window all Div2 boats must contact the tower to confirm the number of crew on board.
